Success Story: What The Fleet
- Company: What The Fleet
- Industry: Leisure / luxury boat trips
- Location: Belgium
- Use case: Local SEO for a service business with two locations and two concepts
About What The Fleet
What The Fleet offers luxury trips on the water in Belgian Limburg from two locations, each with its own concept. FLOAT departs from Hasselt for 1.5 or 2.5 hours near Quartier Bleu, with catering by Lac Bleu. BOAT departs from Mol for 2.5 hours across the Kanaalplas, with catering from the harbour café at Zilvermeerhaven Port Aventura.
Trips start at €30 per person, and the price includes insurance, fuel, a stereo, a polaroid photo, a good-weather guarantee, and the choice between a skipper on board or sailing yourself. Gift vouchers are available too.
Bookings are seasonal and highly local: people search for a boat in a specific town, usually within days of wanting to go out.
The Challenge
The site had visibility for its own brand name but very little for the searches that actually generate bookings. In December 2025 organic traffic bottomed out at 43 clicks for the month, with an average position of 25.6, deep on page three where almost nobody clicks.
The commercial searches were there. "Boot huren hasselt" and "bootje varen hasselt" are exactly the queries a potential customer types. What The Fleet just was not ranking for them.
The Solution
Working through Boostifai, the focus went to three things:
- Making the concept and booking pages unambiguous about what sails from where, for how long, and what is included
- Publishing content aimed at the questions people ask before booking, such as what a luxury sloop trip costs in Mol and how to plan a trip with tapas on board
- Tracking position changes in Search Console so the pages that moved could be reinforced
The Results
Comparing the six months to August 2026 against the six before it:
- Organic clicks up 291%, from 821 to 3,208
- Impressions up 193%, from 13,711 to 40,130
- Average position improved from 15.5 to 7.9, moving the site onto page one
- Click-through rate up from 5.99% to 7.99%
The monthly trend tells the story more clearly than the totals. December 2025 produced 43 clicks. August 2026 produced 698, with July peaking at 786.
The non-brand searches now convert into visits. "Boot huren hasselt" sits at position 1.8, "bootje varen hasselt" at 1.6, and "what the fleet hasselt" at 1.0. Broader terms like "bootje huren" and "boot huren" bring in additional traffic from position 8 to 10, which is the next area to improve.
The blog is pulling its weight too, with articles on renting a boat with tapas and what a luxury sloop trip in Mol costs both earning their own clicks.
